[H]OUSE: Greg Yaitanes will be directing the S8 premiere possibly entitled 'Dark Matter'. (Tx @fluffy0705 for the Q and @pkbhouse for the A)

It looks like House won’t be hiding out in paradise for long.
Fresh intel about the Fox drama’s new season suggests that the hit-and-run fugitive — who fled to a tropical island after driving his car through Cuddy’s living room in the finale — will first be seen this fall (spoiler alert) behind bars!
A Fox rep declined to comment, but a source reports seeing House production vans setting up shop outside a Los Angeles-area prison. That, combined with some recent casting buzz, strongly suggests that Season 8 will kick off with Dr. Crankypants doing hard time.
Makes sense, considering Cuddy’s final words to the cops were to arrest the bastard should he ever set foot in Princeton-Plainsboro again.
Of course, if my theory is accurate, questions remain: For instance, how much time has lapsed since the shocking finale? Was there a trial? How long will House be in the pokey before his inevitable return to P-P?
One more question: If I’m right, what do you think of all this? Personally, I think it’s brilliant. It both appeases fans who were livid about the violent nature of his crime and kicks off the new, Cuddy-less season in a provocative way. It’s a win-win. Well, except maybe for the jailbird himself.

EXCLUSIVE: There will be a major new female addition to Fox's House this fall. Odette Annable, who co-starred on another Fox series this past season -- the midseason comedy Breaking In -- is joining the veteran medical drama as a new series regular, the first regular addition to the cast since the promotion of Olivia Wilde, Peter Jacobson and Kal Penn in Season 4. But fans of Breaking In shouldn't fret that this might be the nail in the coffin of the underrated comedy starring Christian Slater and Bret Harrison. There is time carved into Annable's deal for House that would allow her to also do Breaking In should Fox opt to pick up the series for a second season. Producers are keeping details about Annable's character on House under wraps, but I hear that she meets Dr. Gregory House in prison. As our sister site TVLine recently reported, House will find himself behind bars at the opening of the new season after driving his car into Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein)’s living room in the May Season 7 finale. I hear Annable will play a doctor at the prison whom House recruits to be a new member of his team of diagnosticians, which means that House will likely return to Princeton-Plainsboro pretty quickly after his stint in the slammer. With Wilde, who plays fellow former jailbird Thirteen, busy in features, she is not expected to be in every episode of House next season. And with original co-star Edelstein making a surprising exit after last season and Amber Tamblyn ending her recurring stint, for now Annable will be the only full-time female cast member next season. Of course, the series' producers are yet to find a new boss for House to replace Edelstein's Cuddy. Annable (formerly Odette Yustman), repped by UTA and Evolution, previously co-starred in Cloverfield and did stints on the series October Road and Brothers & Sisters.

Question: Do you have any news about who’s going to replace Cuddy as House‘s new dean? —RenataAusiello: I don’t. Personally, I’m hoping David Shore decides to promote from within rather than bring in someone new. Just putting that out there.
Question: Now that House has lost Cuddy (and maybe landed himself in prison), is there any chance of seeing Andre Braugher return as Dr. Nolan to help out favorite troubled diagnostician? We know he won’t have any conflicts with Men of a Certain Age now. —SteveAusiello: No plans for Dr. Nolan to return, I’m told.

How do I know that Dr. Crankypants’ pesky pill addiction looms large in House‘s Oct. 3 season premiere? Because TVLine managed to learn the title of the episode, and I’m getting high just reading it.
What is it?
“Twenty Vicodin.”
But what does it mean, exactly?! Let’s examine the other evidence:
We know that the action picks up with House in prison, presumably for driving his car into Cuddy’s living room in the finale.
We also know that he encounters a beautiful doctor while in the pokey, and she looks a lot like Brothers & Sisters‘ Odette Annable. Alright, she IS Brothers & Sisters‘ Odette Annable.
And now for a fresh piece of intel: Michael Paré (Eddie and the Cruisers, Starhunter) has been tapped to play the prison warden.
Perhaps the “Twenty Vicodin” alludes to a deal House is attempting to broker with someone on the inside? Maybe it’s what cops found on his person when they arrested him for his vehicular meltdown? I’m just spitballing here. Whaddaya say you lend me a hand and post your own theories in the comments? That’d be swell.

@ncismelanie_
@retlefnegniL Sound awesome !! Do you know which episode are you writing yet ? Best luck !!
@retlefnegniL
@ncismelanie_ Should be around #10. Very challenging ep. Might bring a few tears, if I do it right. Love's a challenging and varied subject.
@tracyhepburnfan
@retlefnegniL Good question. Does the long hair have to do with House being in jail? I wonder how long House will be in jail
@retlefnegniL
@tracyhepburnfan @BabyGoz Mm, good question. Long enough to learn his lesson? It's House, after all. ; )
@tracyhepburnfan
@retlefnegniL Im so curious about S8. How will H get his med license back? How will H be received at PPTH? Will they blame him for C leaving
@retlefnegniL
@tracyhepburnfan A lot of these questions are engines for S8, so keep watching! You might be surprised.
@tracyhepburnfan
@retlefnegniL True. This is H. I really hope H eventually finds some peace. curious how PPH reacts 2 him. Any news on DOM?
@retlefnegniL
@tracyhepburnfan Sure. But I can't say, of course. Definitely will change things for how H works.
@camijustletitbe@
@retlefnegniL I hope so, but without @lisaedelstein is not the same :-(
@camijustletitbe
@retlefnegniL agree, but please no new love interest!
@retlefnegniL
@camijustletitbe No, it won't. But won't it be interesting to see H operate without that compass. Loss is a fact of life, sadly.
@retlefnegniL
@FannyWanKenobi So much love for Paris. @pkbhouse is going to surprise you with the opener - great stuff.

Speaking publicly for the first time about House co-star Lisa Edelstein's exit two months ago, Hugh Laurie sounds like he and everyone else was sorry to see her go.
"We all miss Lisa very much," the 52-year-old actor told reporters at the fall TV previews Saturday, according to TVLine.
Edelstein, who played House's boss and love interest, Cuddy, left the Fox medical drama last month after seven seasons. Her departure followed an explosive — and critically panned — season finale which saw House (Laurie) drive into Cuddy's house months after their break-up. Edelstein's exit leaves the show without a love interest for the title character and seemingly little hope of resolution for "Huddy," as fans dubbed the will-they-or-won't-they couple.
House recently brought on a new female series regular, Breaking In actress Odette Annable.
While promoting his new PBS special, Great Performances: Hugh Laurie: Let Them Talk — A Celebration of New Orleans Blues, Laurie also confirmed a report that his character would be behind bars when House returns. "I am a prisoner," he said. "I don't know [how long I'll be there]. They keep me in the dark. It's probably better that way."
The new season of House premieres on Monday, Oct. 3 at 9/8c on Fox. Edelstein will next appear on The Good Wife in a multi-episode arc.

It’ll be someone we’ve met before on the show!
Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that producers are filling the Dean of Medicine post vacated by Lisa Edelstein’s Cuddy with a face familiar to fans of the Fox hit as opposed to bringing in a new cast member.
But who? I’ve been sworn to secrecy… except for the fact that I can reveal that Hugh Laurie’s new on-screen boss is one of the seven folks listed below. Peruse the options and then vote away in the comments!
Dr. Jeffrey Cole (Edi Gathegi): Though he was a real contender in House’s game of hospital Survivor, “Big Love” was eventually fired because he did the unthinkable: compromised with Cuddy. Perhaps there’s some unfinished business between him and his old boss…
Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard): If House’s BFF were to ascend to Cuddy’s seat of power, it would inject some tension into one of TV’s most popular bromances. How far would our title doc push his pal? And how far would said pal let himself be pushed? Food for thought.
Dr. Eric Foreman (Omar Epps): He replaced House himself back in season 6 (after Mr. Testy quit), so he probably has a leg up on the competition. Or does he? Since we’ve also seen that he’s willing to rebel when he’s got cause, Princeton Plainsboro might be reluctant to put him in charge of House.
Dr. Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer): He’s another one that doesn’t shy away from controversial decisions. He deliberately killed a patient, you’ll recall. With good reason, but still. Such a wild card might be an insurance nightmare for PPTH, but a thrill ride for viewers.
Dr. Chris Taub (Peter Jacobson): Possibly the only candidate who is as willing to break the rules as he is good at getting away with doing so, this plastic surgeon is almost House’s obnoxious equal. Which is saying something. Not necessarily something nice, but you get the idea.
Dr. Sam Carr (Cynthia Watros): If Wilson’s radiologist first wife/ex-girlfriend were to make a comeback — and, in effect, as his boss, no less! — well, the fireworks all but set themselves off in this scenario! Beyond that potential rematch, even if she can handle her former spouse, could she handle House? Better bring the stun gun…
Edward Vogler (Chi McBride): When Cuddy talked the board of PPTH into keeping her then-future boyfriend and dumping its bucks-up new chairman — and his $100 million donation — House earned himself an enemy for life. If payback time is at hand, how steep would Vogler make the price?

Is laughter the best medicine? Fox’s House may put that axiom to the test with the addition of funny lady Charylne Yi as a series regular.
House Exclusive: New Details on Season 8 Premiere
A stand-up comedienne whose acting credits include Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up, the semi-autobiographical docu Paper Heart (which she wrote, and costarred then-beau Michael Cera), and NBC’s Love Bites, Yi is joining the medical drama as another new addition to the Princeton-Plainsboro diagnostics team.
Yi and fellow newbie Odette Annable (Brothers & Sisters) effectively fill the void left by Amber Tamblyn (whose med student Martha Masters exited stage left last spring) and Olivia Wilde (who is expected to only make a handful of appearances this season as Thirteen).
